Finish off and sew up the opening

Your product should look like the picture labeled “A”

To make the hole in her bottom, you are going to need to push in the extra body-looking part, and if you push it all the way in, you should get a hole in the bottom.

After you complete this step, your product should look like the picture labeled “B”

The opening you should see in the bottom of your octopus is to fit the babies in, I do not currently have a baby pattern, what I have been using for babies is a pattern from All From Jade, the link is here. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-octopus-13

Tentacles

Attach your yarn to the body with a Slst, then chain 14. Skip the first chain, and Sc 2 into the next. Sc 2 into every chain down the line then Slst at the end and finish off. I do four coral tentacles and four orange leaf tentacles in a coral, orange leaf, coral, orange leaf pattern. Make 8 tentacles.

Each tentacle should look like the picture labeled “C”

Bow

(optional)

Chain 8, then skip the first chain and Sc into the second. Sc all down the chain, then chain 1 and turn. Repeat until you have done 3 rows, then finish off and leave a long tail. Sew the tail along the top until it is about centered, and then wrap it around your rectangle tightly. Once you have wrapped about 5 times, loop the tail through the wrapping, and sew it onto the body.

Eyes

I put the eyes between rows 7 & 8, about 5 stitches apart. But you can do whatever looks good to you!

By this time, you should be finished, and I hope your mother octopus looks as cute as you had hoped it would be!
